decadently-rich-crock-pot-hot-chocolate Seems only fitting that as I sit down to write this, the first snow is on the ground- all pretty and untouched, since it’s still dark outside. Really, I was hoping for more….which isn’t a surprise to many, since growing up north of Spokane made me practically crave a white winter. For months on end, we wouldn’t see the ground. For us, snow was a normal part of winter and we had a nice rack by the fire for drying wet snow gear.

So, I’ll sit here with my coffee and I’ll stare at my (maybe) one inch of snow. I think the kids can all mostly put on their own snow gear this year, which is awesome. It’s always funny to me, to think of all the moms out there shoving little hands into gloves and sending kids outside, just in time for the little ones to come back in, saying they need to pee. Makes me wonder if I’m the only one who bribes them by saying they can have hot chocolate when they come in, if they stay outside long enough? Is that bad? Haha!
dsc_0251This hot chocolate is one of the hot beverage options we offered at the Wreath Workshop. It is rich and a completely warming, decadent treat. Getting it going in the crock pot will take you less than 5 minutes, I promise.

On a side note, I just have to mention these pretzels from New Season’s Market. Growing up, we always made them, but honestly, these ones from the store are WAY better. I don’t know how they do it, but I am obsessed—and they pair perfectly with this homemade hot chocolate.decadently-rich-crock-pot-hot-chocolate1
