Tucking Away Things for the New House

I tucked a few things into some drawers today for our new home. Towels, pot holders—new and so cute, with the tags still on. We’ll be moving probably in 2 months or less from now! Things on the house have been going so well over the last few months and starting tomorrow, my husband is taking off 2 weeks from work so we can install our shiplap, paint the interior, install our flooring, and do a bizillion other projects. It’s all consuming, but before long, we’ll be waking up there everyday.

When Eliza and I went shopping this morning, our list was long with groceries, but we couldn’t help but pick a few things up for the new house as well. I absolutely LOVE how New Seasons Market has an awesome selection of groceries and ALSO super cute gift and home items. I actually did some of my Christmas shopping there last year—not that I’m thinking about Christmas yet or anything 😉

Today I thought I’d share with you all a few things that caught my eye.

First of all, let’s talk about ornamental cabbage. All of our flowers are dying off. Don’t leave the planters ugly all winter! Stick some of these sweet babies in. So cute and WOW- today they were only $1.99!
There’s just something about being in a store that has amazing local food options, but also regular brands as well. Today our groceries were a mix of organic, specialty and regular brands everyone recognizes. And just look at these darling bags at the end of one of the frozen isles? I’m telling you, this store has the perfect mix of everything.

One thing I’ve been doing to prepare for moving is picking up a few little things for the new house NOW, before we move in. When we move, it’s sure to be a crazy time. So today I bought a couple of these woodsy towels with the fox. For fall and winter they are perfect. I hid them away in our future coffee dresser so they’ll be a happy surprise when we unpack.
Like I’ve mentioned before, I’m a huge fan of the complimentary nutrition services New Seasons offers.  There’s often a nutritionist right there in store to help answer questions and they always have informative classes scheduled as well.  I’ve had a lot of people ask me about Washington stickers. Guess what?  I spotted them in the Mercer Island store today, along with Craig Romano’s books! And just look at these ceramic coasters! So fun. When I saw these oven mits today, that’s when my heart skipped a beat. Cabins. Trees. Bears. I bought a couple for the new house and tucked them away so they’ll be brand new when we move in. Arriving home and unpacking, I felt so incredibly thankful to live in an area where we can shop at stores like this. You can buy local and support your farmer and while you’re at it, you can pick up darling items like what I tucked away for our new home. In the store you can find lemons for a great price and also….beard oil, dark chocolate and water bottles! Priorities! Haha! Looking forward to unpacking these towels hopefully before too long!
