Have you ever found yourself driving through Fir Island, admiring all the gorgeous barns and farm houses? Ever since I can remember, I’ve loved that drive. Saturday we took that drive, stopped to take a few barn photos (many of you might know I have a love for old barns!). We’d planned on stopping at Snowgoose for lunch—-don’t judge, because you know ice cream for lunch sounds good sometimes during the summer. We ended up changing our minds and continued on up the road to stop at one of our favorite sandwich spots!
Rexville Grocery. It’s not a big place, nor is it fancy, but guys—-aren’t the little side of the road places usually the best?
My husband had the Rueben and I had the Rexville Club…with turkey, bacon and all the fixings.

So next time you’re looking for a unique spot for lunch, I can’t recommend this place any more highly. We usually grab sandwiches to go and take them to a beach or on a hike. 
Next up on our date was a stop at Skagit Salvage! Since we’re building, I’ve been on the lookout for items that’ll add some old character to our new construction. Shiplap in particular has been on my radar. This place is so fun, but to find a treasure, you’ll need some time and the will to possibly do some digging.
Guess what I’m standing next to? Enough shiplap for the project I had in mind. And it was a great deal! I’m a happy girl!
Leaving Skagit Salvage, we headed to Bellingham and went to Woods Coffee at Boulevard Park. Have you gone there and walked along the water? It’s gorgeous! The red sun from the B.C fires made for a really interesting sky.
